Young Enterpreneurship

Social enterprise is a way of doing business that connects to a will for profound social change, which pursues those solutions that lead to a higher form of social welfare. Potential entrepreneurs, however, face many problems: education systems that do not provide the right foundation for an entrepreneurial career; spread of a culture that does not fully recognize entrepreneurial efforts. This state of affairs has led to a general consensus on the difficulty that young people under 30 with fewer opportunities face many more obstacles in entering the labour market. Hence, the commitment of the project "il Circolo Digitale" (in English Digital Hoop) to focus on the figure of the social entrepreneur, seen by all partners of the project as a carrier of innovation, social inclusion that contributes to achieving the EU 2020 Strategy goals.

About Digital Hoop

Project priorities and objectives:

The main aim of the project is to help young people (aged 18-30) with fewer opportunities to become social

entrepreneurs by providing them with appropriate training through mentoring and online tools to develop and

implement their ideas (Objective outlined in relation to the consortium’s priorities). To this end, it will rely on

specially trained social/youth workers, specialists and entrepreneurs.

The project therefore aims to:

Priority 1: focus on promoting active citizenship, initiative and social entrepreneurship among young people.

Thanks to the Mentorship Programme (MP), Capacity Training (CT) and the creation of the online Social

business Planning Programme (SBPPO) for young people with fewer opportunities, Digital Hoop will make

it easier to become entrepreneurs.

Priority 2: strengthening the employability of young people. Digital Hoop will enable young people

 who so wish to develop the knowledge and skills needed for better business or work opportunities

 (hard and soft skills, necessary for the labour market apart from becoming a social entrepreneur);

Priority 3: Promote quality, innovation and recognition of youth work. Digital Hoop, through communication

campaigns, will disseminate the results of the project and those obtained by young participants with fewer opportunities.
